Luma: Clouds and Coffee

I grew up in the Seattle area, in that steady rhythm of rain, coastal air and evergreen that is home.

I came up as a professional athlete, and that path led me to Osaka, where I worked for years as a live action stunt performer, a chapter with plenty of adrenaline and, honestly, more than a few moments of lighting myself on fire.

Realizing I was ready for something deeper, I left Japan for Peru and started showing up alongside NGOs working with Indigenous communities around the Sacred Valley and along the Ucayali River. We focused on helping protect ancestral wisdom and support the people who hold it. I began as a video editor and delivered documentaries for those communities. At one point, after a project delivery, the community president asked whether I knew anyone who could build a website so people around the world could learn about us. I did not have someone to hand off to, and so…

I volunteered, built my first site, and found a craft I wanted to keep growing. Since then I have fully embraced WordPress as a standout platform to work with: free, powerful, and built for real organizations telling real stories.
